Moon Calendar Spring 2021 – Spring 2022

One thing you should know about me, I love quick references. I enjoy reading, but a quick list of things I need to know makes my life simpler. I created this post as quick, cheat sheet for the April 2021- April 2022 year. The moon’s place is computed for EST.

In 2021 there will not be a blue moon as no months will have 2 full moons. There will be a seasonal blue moon during the Summer 2021 season. The Summer 2021 season will have 4 full moons. The third moon in a four moon season is designated as the seasonal blue moon, and for 2021 that will be the August 2021 full moon on Sunday August 22, 2021 08:02 EST.

Native American tribes used moon phases and cycles to keep track of the seasons by giving a distinctive name to each recurring full moon. The unique full moon names were used to identify the entire month during which each occurred.
Although many Native American tribes gave distinct names to the full moon, the most well known full moon names come from the Algonquin tribes who lived in the area of New England and westward to Lake Superior. The Full Moon names we use today also have Anglo-Saxon and Germanic roots.

As I discussed before, the new moon is a perfectly good time for rituals as well. The new moons are usually associated with the astrological signs they are in.

There will four eclipses this year; two are partial eclipse, one is annular, and one is a total eclipse. An annular solar eclipse happens when the Moon covers the Sun’s center, leaving the Sun’s visible outer edges to form a “ring of fire” or annulus around the Moon.

  • May 26th, 2021 – Flower Full Moon – Total Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius
  • June 10th, 2021 – New Moon – Annular Eclipse in Gemini
  • November 19, 2021 – Beaver Full Moon – Partial Lunar Eclipse
  • December 4, 2021 – New Moon – Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

I created an ebook of this post for easy reference. Happy Moon Magic!!
